This week our Sunday Stills is all about Macro shots. Mine are not as close as I would like cause even if I use the macro button, it seems to come out fuzzy if I get too close, so this is what I came up with this week. First off the sugary fruit on a candle holder.
Then I came up with a cross stitch I finished a few years ago.
And my cool cutting board.
And lastly two shots of the peacock feather pen we used for our wedding.

Cross stitch was a good idea. Do you know how many needlepoint and cross stitch projects I've got laying around the house? And do you know how many are unfinished? Don't ask.
Cool looking fruit:)
You got really neat texture in all your macro shots.
Good idea different textures, is your cutting board glass? I have one like that with cows.
You may not have used the macro setting, but it looks like you did. Lots of fine detail and textures in your photos. They look great!
I especially like the peacock pen. The composition is very interesting.
The trick to taking macro photos I've learned, is to make sure to gently depress the button partly down until the photo is focused the way you want it, before pressing it down all the way. Sometimes I'll depress the button for a long time before I get exactly the focus I want.
Another issue is blurriness when there is something else closer to the lens than the subject you are hoping to capture. Moving yourself and the camera around to different angles usually helps with that.
