This year our branding was supposed to go on Monday, but it rained all morning, so we cancelled and were gonna go Thursday, but by Tuesday at noon, everything looked nice out, so we called our neighbors and we got a crew together and got it done.
It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon, I rode Dinero and he was really good, but he wants to go over to where Neil's horse is all the time and I wouldn't let him and he finally settled and went to work. He is not afraid of cows at all, he was right in there pushing them and doesn't even jump when they turn back at him. Pretty brave for a colt.
We had a good turnout of help, I thought we might be short of help on such short notice, but we actually had more people than we needed, but we never turn away help so it was all appreciated.
Our meal consisted of roast beef, ham, hashbrown casserole, beans, pasta salad and buns. Nothing fancy but it sure all dissapeared. We always get donuts from Tim Hortons brought up from town for dessert and this year that was the plan as well, and so we had 4 dozen donuts, and suprisingly on neighbor brought a cake. It was her dad's birthday and he was at our branding, so she brought him a cake. Mmmm it was black forest and sooo good!

Looks like a good turnout and a good day for it. I always like to see the young folks getting in the thick of things, that's how traditions get perpetuated. Love that last photo.
Great pics, great turnout, beautiful day! That's the good life!
Hey, I recognized some of those people. I even recognize Andy's chinks....I made them for his grad.
