Its a Miracle!!!

First off, Happy Mothers Day to my mom and all other moms out there! Pretty important day for moms to finally be recognized for all their hard work.

Oh and some kind of miracle transformation happened over night! (little bit sarcastic there!) I went out to feed the mares and Fly was peeing....and she has turned into a he! I was pretty sure I had checked, but I guess I should do the lift the tail check, not the look underneath check. oops. Oh well I still think HE is cute!

More Contests

Okay so now that Gypsy has finally foaled, I will put up the other two girls.

First Belle. She was pasture bred from June 3- July 11. Although he thinks she was in heat around the 15th. She is bred to a buckskin son of Chuck Manness Ill Smoke Ya. (I'm kinda embarrassed to say I cant remember his name, so Joe will do)

She really has no bag to speak of yet, but she is a maiden mare.




Her prize will be a horseshoe keepsake gift box.


And Razz. She was bred when I got her as well, but they said she is due the first weeks of June. She also is a maiden mare, but she has small bag.

She is bred to a black overo paint horse named Strait Cut. He is from Anchor Y Paint and Quarter horses. Pretty nice looking horse, cant wait for this one!

Her prize is a western candle holder.

And we cant forget about Fly, she learned how to run!

More Pictures

As promised I went out and got more pictures of the cute little girl. I should warn you, over the summer there will be many pictures of babies, along with some other pictures of course. Oh and no one old me, (but I shoulda figured it out) when you iodine the umbilical cord, watch out, it gets ALL over!

I talked to the guy I got Gypsy from, and he said last year all Joe's babies were roan, and this year they are all bays and duns, weird how that happens like that. And he said all Gypsy's babies are leggy, but this is the only one that got Joe's nice head. So I guess that's a good thing.

Oh and the contest winner I decided was Shirley (sorry Linda) because she was born between Shirley and Linda's guesses and Shirley had the right sex and possibly the color as well.

But not to worry, I will be posting a contest about the other two here in the next few days after I get a few more pics of them.

Finally, We Have Girl!

Well imagine my surprise when I went out in the snowy weather this morning and Belle is eating from the hay bale and I call the girls and Bailey and Razz come from the opposite directions and I can hear Gypsy whinny, but she doesn't come. Hmm, suspicious. So I feed the three and go in the shed and sure enough there is this cute little baby.


She walks over to me and so I scratch her a little and look to see its a girl and feed Gypsy and try to get more pics, but she closed her eyes cause the sun was so bright outside in the snow!



So I try to get a little farther away for some more pics, but she keeps following me and so I walk back into the shed and didn't get any good pics cause the shed was too dark and so light outside, I will have to get more soon, I'm sure that wont be a problem, lol.

I am thinking of calling her Gypsys Flying Carpet, Fly for short. I thought it was more of acolts name, but I think it suits her.
