So this week I cheated and went with archives. I love these couple shots I got in March of the rays of sun cause it was the first time I had ever gotten them when they showed up, so I am sharing them with everyone today.

Sunday Stills -- Cats
This week Sunday Still is cats. We have 2 cats in our yard but only one is very visible. Although I did surprise a badger in our yard yesterday but of course did not have my camera, but maybe he is the reason I do not have very many gophers this year, thought our cats were being super efficient.

Sunday Stills -- Something Bizare
This week Sunday Stills has to do with something bizarre you seen. I usually see lots but of course this week, was having a hard time finding something until I had a good chuckle at my nephews tan lines. He loves wearing shorts, but not sandals and since he wears the same height of socks everyday he has the whitest feet ever! Almost looks like he is still wearing socks.

Sunday Stills -- Summertime
I LOVE summer. And so this week's subject being summertime is perfect. Even though this summer is going by way too fast, but I guess they all do. So what reminds me of summer? Well summer always brings brandings, Saskatoon picking, moving cows, trail rides in tank tops, horses on green grass, storm clouds, and long grass. And so much more, but here is my collection for this week.

Sunday Stills -- Brown
This week Sunday Stills is all about the color brown. Brown is not my favorite color, but I am starting to appreciate it more. First is a bowl of mixed chocolate, and I love chocolate!
And while we have had so much rain lately it has made a few brown mud puddles.
And I couldnt resist some brown horses. And I learned yesterday in Denmark they don't have colors like Bay and Sorrel. They just call them brown or red. First is Disco, then Kali.
And I have wanted a pair of these for like 2 years and finally on Friday I broke down and bought a pair.

Sunday Stills -- Blue
So this week we are doing blue pics for Sunday Stills, maybe less than obvious shades of blue. Well I come up with this Donkey sign that is supposed to hang on a tree but hasn't made it there yet.
And since Neil's feed truck is blue, I got that too.
But then last night we had kinda a storm blow through that left all kinds of blue sky around, so I thought I should put a few of them in too.

Sunday Stills -- Music Groups or Songs in Pictures
This week Sunday Stills was about picking a music group or a song and depict it in a picture. So I got one of each after having lots of fun thinking up what I could pick.
First of all I got a song by Garth Brooks, it actually come on the radio and I thought since I was drivin by I would stop and get a pic.
And the second is a band and so I got Neil to park side by side. Don't know if they were thinking of John Deere, but that's what we got so that is what is in the picture.
Since both should be pretty obvious even if you don't listen to country music I will let you guess. For other people choices, check out Sunday Stills.

Sunday Still -- Beauty or Beast
This week our Sunday still sis Beauty or Beast. Take something bad and put it in a way to make it look good or find some beauty in it.
Well this was kinda hard till I really thought about it. I don't like brown particularly, but brown is my favorite horse color. But I went with snow. I know its not really bad, but I do not like snow or winter. But it is necessary and it makes stuff pretty.

The first one looks all pretty and dreamy and the second one is heavy frost and makes dead trees (or rather not dead just dormant) look so much nicer.

Sunday Stills--Weather
This week Sunday Stills is showing the weather how it is where we are, cloudy, sunny, whatever. Well here we have had a whole bunch of different weather, starting with Monday we had a suposed blizzard which missed us but gave us a real nice sunset that night.
Then Tuesday was a beautiful sunny day on which I rode my pony.
Then Thursday we were back to snow again, although it looks bad it was melted by 10.
And then Saturday it was foggy, sure was kinda yucky out.
Only thing I didn't get a picture of was rain, but I did drive through it on Thursday on the way to town. For more, check out Sunday Stills.

Sunday Stills- Through an Opening
This week I am putting up my Sunday Stills a day early cause I won't be home tonight or tomorrow cause we are gonna be in Ponoka at a cutting show, EEK! But anyways this week Sunday Stills is all about framing an object through an opening. Not always easy but I like to have a challenge.
So I been looking all week to decide what to take and never really came up with much until yesterday at the barn I noticed the door made a perfect frame. The horses are in the barn but I shoulda had help and stood them closer to the opening, but I was alone.
Then I was outside trying to find something else and the cute little dog was hanging around chewing on something and I got him/her framed through the fence rails.
And then when I was done I walked in and noticed all the kitties (well not all, there is like 8 there) stiing on the hay bale and got them framed using a bunch of different objects, hay, Dude, the roof and the stall door. This actually turned out to be my favorite shot.
For more Sunday Stills go here.

The Trees I Really Wanted
So last week our Sunday Stills was trees and I was hoping for snow to land on the trees so they don't just look like dead trees. Well we got snow but with it also came wind so no snow stayed on the trees. Then I wake up this morning (on MONDAY) and there is hoar frost all over, of course. So I went out and got the trees I really wanted to get for the challenge. Sometimes it just doesn't work out in the week I want to take them and I really like doing new photos, soo here they are, Sunday Stills on Monday.

Sunday Stills--Natures Frames
This week our Sunday Stills is nature making a frame around something. I tried not to use any ideas that were given, so it took me a few days to think about it and I got that since its winter snow covers so much and so that was my basic idea. First I go to the grass that is peeking through the snow
And then I see the cat tracks which were hard to get with being white on white
And as I go a little farther I saw the coyote tracks which were easier to get cause the snow was shallower and the paws were bigger
And then I look up and see the sun was even framed by the clouds, so I got that as well.
Wasnt as hard as I first thought it would be. For more Check out Sunday Stills. Oh and the bird from last week that was unidentified, my Step Dad Clint (bird watcher extrordinaire) says he thinks it might be a non breeding snow bunting. Looks to me like they are more green than the pic in the book, but I dont know anything about birds and they sounds reasonable so thats what I am going with.

Sunday Stills--Corners
This post confused me for a while, why would I want pictures of corners, so of course I left it till the last minute, but since I said I was gonna try to get every Sunday Still in, I got something this morning.
This is the basement corner in our house, I love it cause its not a 90 degree corner, but I wish I woulda got in when the sun was shining in the window it looks so much prettier.
Then I was out of ideas and Neil said go to the end of our road and get our corner but that meant going outside and he wouldnt stand in the corner for me, so I got my rain gauge in the corner of the porch, actually turned out better than I thought it would.
Hopefully I wont be so last minute next time, shoot earlier rather than waiting.

Sunday Stills--Lights
Well since I said I would try to participate in all the Sunday Stills this week I am entering this one even though I thought it was gonna be more challenging than I found out it really was. So this is what I got.
That was a little movement, then I thought I should maybe try a little more movement and it looks kinda cool, but harder to tell what it is.
Its the tractor and baler at John Deere that they light up for Christmas and they havent done it for a couple years so I am glad that they done it this year. Here is a real pic of it. I actually had to move the camera cause I dont know how to have a longer shutter speed, I kinda thought without a flash it would be blurry but it was actually fairly clear. I guess I know for next time now.
I also took a short video cause some of the lights flash and look light it is moving.

Sunday Stills-Favorite Photo of 2011
This week our Sunday Stills challenge was to pick our favorite photo of 2011 and what our photo goals for 2012 are. When I first read this challenge, my automatic thought was to my pic of Jamaica walking towards me outta the fog.
I had this as my desktop for a really long time then decided I should probly have a horse I still have on there, so now I have Razz. But then looking through all my pics, I really liked this one of the fox that was in our yard last February.
It was so flukey just to get him sitting there and I took it out the living room window, so still more amazing how clear it turned out. But I kept looking and I think this one of a frosty tree is my favorite of the year.
I can't believe still how you can see the individual frost flakes and just looks so much better with the blue sky behind it. Funny how they all were kinda wintery pics. And they are all straight out of the camera.
My goals for the next year are to complete all the Sunday Stills (even the hard ones) and to learn more about how to manually take photos with my camera rather than to just rely on the Auto setting.
