Bull Fighting

With the bulls we have at our house, sometimes they think thye need to fight for one reason or another.  Sometimes its just boredom, sometimes its over food, sometimes there is no water, and sometimes I dont know what sets them off.

This morning the waterers were frozen and so Neil was driving out to the well pit to see what was going on, he left the gate open to the bull field, and of course being bulls they walked out the gate and ino the yard.  Can't really blame them when the gate is left wide open.

So Neil gets up to go outside again and has to chase the bulls accross the yard back to where they go, no wonder I want a fence around my yard, I am sick of having big footsteps in the yard.

On the way back in the two older  ones decided they needed to fight on the way in and I got some pictures the way in.

Neil looked funny out there with his heater and water jug chasing fighting bulls in.  I almost felt guilty for him and went to help but luckily by then he had them in.

He finally got them in and got the waterer fixed.

He came in and said it was a lot of work walking through the snow, even though yesterday he had drove the tractor out there it had blown in.

Hopefully the waterers stay working for the rest of winter.

Well, you certainly had your excitement of the day... or week... or month, depending on how you look at it. If I saw a loose bull, I'd go the other way.

Oh MY! And I thought a loose shetland pony was exciting! I wonder if the bulls were fighting because one lost a bet? I bet one dared the other to lick the doorknob on the house - and then he was too scared to so he was teased...and everyone knows you dont tease a bull! lol

Youre getting socked with the same weather we be getting - freezing rain followed by snow...just nasty stuff to walk in where it drifts!

Hope your

Good thing those bulls were more interested in fighting one another and not coming after Neil. eeek! I don't blame you for wanting to observe from inside.
Which would most smart people choose? Outside: snow, cold, and loose, fighting bulls or Inside: warmth, and safety. Uh,,hello? That's a no-brainer. lol!

I worry for Neil, it looks like he gets too close. You never know when bulls are fighting like that. They're was more scared of the other bull than they are any people (even on horseback) and they will run you right over with out batting an eye. I don't even get that close on a horse when they are arguing. You tell him, I worry about him and I think he should be more careful, OK?

I ALWAYS shut the gate when the bulls are concerned.......they can make more work than they're worth. I think shooting the ALL after breeding season might just be a great idea ;)))))))

Yup you defiantly had the best seat in the house!! I am always reminding the son to make sure he shuts the gates. I only have steers and horses to worry about and only a hand full at that. I couldn't imagine worring about a bull getting out ;)

Boys! They always have to do something stupid. Even the young bulls have to get into at times. I'm glad we don't keep our ONE bull here! Great photos, by the way!
