Man that was one busy week, I am not very good at having something planned every day anymore. All started a week ago Friday. We sold our calves at a presale they sold really well we are pretty happy with the prices. We are not weaning till Halloween, having a Halloweening haha. And so those buyers will send their trucks here and pick them up and the leftovers (small and whatever else no one wants) will go to the sale the next day. Then my Mom had planned a scrap booking evening so I headed over there and got that done. I had headed home early cause Saturday was the Horse Parade.
I like going there mostly because its all horses but the parade doesn't start till 10:30 so I left home at 9! I got to sleep in even that was weird. Jess was super good as usual, she was even a little lazy but that is just fine with me. Only thing she looked twice at was a team of minis, it was funny like she couldn't figure out what they were. They had made a shorter route cause the rodeo comittee decided they wanted us to stay on Main Street case lots goes on there and if we go on other roads people just watch from their houses. But the road was dug up all summer and so we had to go around some of it. But then they ended it early was only about half hour, kinda short and they didnt go by the nursing home and hospital. So a bunch of us made our own parade and went by there, it took a little longer and we got thanked by lots of people who were waiting there for us. A few teams and wagons, maybe next year Jax can go :)
Then Sunday was East Coulee breakfast, the first one since May and it was good to go again. Then I finished up cooking the crab apples and making juice and pulp. Still have to make it into Jelly and sauce but that can happen when its wintery outside. Monday I skipped yoga cause I was just tired. Although I did ride Razz, she was so fun, she is so brave now its cool doing stuff with her. We started in the arena but that was boring so we went and rode half way around the North pasture then around and saw antelopes. Then back but she didn't wanna go back so I let her pick the way and she headed East away from the horses and whatever then we went around the house and between the steps and garage and over top of the gravel pile. That was weird haha then I decided I was done and so we quit.
Tuesday I shoulda hauled horses down to the arena before theraputic riding but I woke up with a sore throat again and so I just didn't. I did go but not with horses. Then Wednesday was the clinic I wasn't sure how much I would get done but I went anyways. Took Razz and we had so much fun. And Char got some cool pics of me! Finally a few pics of me riding :) We did it a little different, we each had our own session in the morning and I got the start of some lift from Razz that was cool. We also worked on our backup making it softer. Then in the afternoon we all got together and started with a few obstacles and dragging stuff and going over tarps and jumps and stuff. Then we went out in the field and did some of the same exercises it was super good. So much so we booked another day on October 11 to get him again.
Then I had planned to go to Calgary Thursday but we went to the Supreme instead. Then I went to Calgary after and got up early to get in line to buy a Super Nintendo. We got one too :) we were 2nd and 3rd in line that was cool. Then we did a bit of shopping and then went to the football game that night.
And today headed up and had a look at a yearling. Which I need like a hole in the head. But she was cute. Tomorrow I need to go grocery shopping cause its the first and then paint night Monday Im excited for that but I need to rest first. ANd also we had the cement guy come out and start our sidewalk and garage pad. And the deck guy came to put the roof on the deck and build Neil an overhead door for his shed. So much in one week.
Feel free to use any pictures you would like from my blog, but I would like recognition please!

And Then Sunday/Monday
After the clinic I went home turned out Jess and unhooked my trailer. It was dark so I quit. I had plans to get up early in the morning and go to Calgary to pick up my sister. I got up at 4 and out the door shortly afterwards. Picked up Heidi and headed back to Drum. Been half a day already and was only 8! But we picked up our race packages for the Drum Half Marathon and then hung around to until it was our time to start.
Weirdly enough we wore matching blue shirts and both put our green race shirt on top, we were thinking it was cool we matched, might do it again next year. Finally they did the warmups for our race and since we knew we were walking the whole thing we stayed at the back. Was a good day for it, was raining earlier that morning but it quit by the time we got there. Was a bit cool but nice temperature to walk in.
We walked not too fast but not too slow, Heidi's ankles hurt if she goes too fast and my broken toe wasn't so great if we walked at all but I tried to save it a bit and it wasn't too bad afterwards. We finished in 1:56:02. Not bad, I didn't think we would do under 2 hours so was happy with that. Got our medal and a pic with the dinosaur and then they had mini donuts.....for free!!!! MMM who can argue with that??? We stuck around a bit and visited with a few people and then headed back to Calgary but we made a couple stops on the way.
First was at Beiseker to see the giant Skunk, I had seen him before but never took a pic so it was perfect. Heidi didn't have any giant things off her list now she has a few :)
Then down the road a few miles to Irricana, where they have a giant horse. Of course we also saw a Unicorn which I had no idea was there. I had to save Heidi from him he was gonna stomp her!
Then we drove over to Airdrie where they have a cowboy with real clothes on, a rooster, a bull and Maters cousin. That was fun.
Then off to Calgary to make crabapple jelly and butter. We never finished that night had to finish up in the morning cause we were just too tired.
Long weekend but it was a lot of fun. I came home Monday afternoon and just rested I was tired!

August at our Place
Been busy here still, summer is just that way, I get doing so much and forget to blog it all. Of course I have hardly rode at all since July since the bugs have been so bad, have never seen so many mosquitoes in my whole life as I have this summer, the horses and cows (and me) are just miserable. So I been spending my time inside doing stuff and its worked well the last 2 weeks with the Olympics on, it gave me an excuse to stay inside.
I been canning away, its a lot nicer to can when we have air conditioning, doesn't matter the outside temp its still decent in here. First my Mom and Clint come out and they brought peaches and so we made peach jam, salsa and canned some as fruit. Then I picked chokecherries and made syrup and I have 0 crapabbles on my tree and so I posted I was looking for fruit on Facebook and I got a message from a nice lady who has a bunch of fruit in her yard they just want picked cause they don't use it. That was perfect, pears, plums and cherries. There was a couple apples but they had hail a few weeks ago and it pretty well ruined them. It it the other fruit but not as bad. So I got a bunch from her and made cherries and cherry jelly so far, the plums are almost ripe now and the pears not sure. I might go back in a couple weeks and pick some more ripe ones.
While my mom was out we took a side tour to Dinosaur Park, I have never been there and so we did, it was pretty cool, sure is a view up top there. of course my Mom was most interested in John Wares Cabin cause its log. But the mosquitoes were out pretty bad there too which was too bad. Then we headed to Patricia for supper and it was really good, even though we were not that hungry.
We had a stagette for the neighbor girl and we went floating down the river, I was pretty hesitant to go cause I never have and she borrowed me her kayak and it was so fun! After a day there I thought I could be in the Olympics.....well at least I'd like to do it again, it was fun but I'm probly not that good.
We also worked the casino for the Ag Society and while we were in Medicine Hat we stopped at the Teepee and got some pics, I had never stopped there just seen it on the way by but its on my list and now its checked off. They also said there was a giant moose in front of the Moose Lodge but they musta moved it or tore it down cause we sure couldn't find it.
And yesterday we headed to Fort Macleod to watch Neil's cousin and his daughter participate in a triathlon, they were so awesome! It kinda made me wanna do it. My swimming isnt that strong but I think if I swim over the winter a bit I could improve enough. Last winter they had drop in swimming lessons and I might do a few of those as well. Be funner if I could find someone to go with me tho.
And while we were there went to Lethbridge to visit and shop, and see the giant Wind Gauge, which is funny cause there wasn't even a tiny breeze that day and we coulda used one it was hot! Then on to Taber which has the giant Corn and Lady.
And now off on another adventure this week :)
