I went to Calgary Friday I had booked a dentist appointment and me and my sister were gonna go shopping and then play video games all night long. Then in the morning I had another Energy Equine seminar.
Well I went and we went for lunch and got visiting and next thing we knew it was dentist time. I had 2 small cavities and they were gonna fill them both. Well turned out I had a third he couldn't see so he did that one as well and I had a tooth I was making a decision on. I decided the best choice was for it to be pulled he thought a root canal with a post and a cap cause there wasn't much tooth left. I was suspicious how long that would last and so I just said remove it and so he did it that day. That wasn't in the plans but now I guess I don't have to go back for a year so that's a good thing. But I wasn't really up to a lot of shopping although it didn't really hurt was just not there lol. We went to Costco for a few things and Walmart and then got supper and back to sisters house. We ate then played more Diablo, we found out how to play with 3 players so her boyfriend plays too it's fun. Then finally at about 1:30 we were all yawning and rubbing our eyes and decided we should quit. I remember playing all hours of the night I guess we all got old.
Saturday the seminar was great again. It was on the shoulders and the neck and that is what Jess needs so much so I paid lots of attention. So much to take home and use on her it will help a ton I'm sure. They had a sweet barrel mare named Honey and she was really sore but she sure tried.
Then it ended early and so I stopped by Irvine's but they had no one that wanted to help me so didn't get what I wanted, may have to order online. Then home. Still got home by 5 and we had a virtual moonlight ride planned and since it was niceish out I figured we should join in. I went out at 6:30 when there was still a little light left and tacked up Jess and we rode down the road and back up and down and back up and finally the moon peeked out. It wasn't as big as I thought it would be and it was really dark out but I got some pics anyways. I finally used the flash when we got back so she's actually visible. Then as I put her away in the pitch black I was cold. It was about -6 and didn't seem bad when riding but after when I was on the ground again it was cold.
Came inside and couldn't resist getting another moon pic, this time with the real camera.
Feel free to use any pictures you would like from my blog, but I would like recognition please!

Sunday Stills -- Glare
I kinda postponed this and am late cause couldn't get a good shot of glare this week if I tried, and I did try. Usually have excess glare I don't want but I all I got this week was the sun shining off a magazine. So here it is but it ain't what I was going for.
But while I had the camera out and was BBQing
I saw the moon was almost full coming up
so made Neil come outside so I could play haha and this is what we come up with.
Haha what a willing subject he is, woulda worked better if the moon was lower, maybe tomorrow except I don't think Ill be home :(
(not great but it is glarey)
(usually the fireplace gets glare but just reflections this week)
But while I had the camera out and was BBQing
(mmm steaks)
I saw the moon was almost full coming up
(Looked so much bigger in real)
so made Neil come outside so I could play haha and this is what we come up with.
(His arm kept being clear and the moon fuzzy
but since its so small you can't tell)

SuperMoon
I guess our last full moon was a super moon, I didnt know that but it was big and pretty close. I really like the moon and so I went out the night before it was full and got a few good ones, can hardly tell it wasnt full.
The next night I was a little sooner to get out and saw it a little lower. I tried to get it over the shed and I did, it was kinda cool.
Never did go riding under it, but next month maybe, it was super hot out and I went after I took these pics but it started clouding up.

Moonlight Rides
The last full moon, Susan asked if we wanted to go riding with her. I have always wanted to ride in the full moon so of course we agreed. We met at her house and got saddled about 8. I rode Bailey and Char rode Kali cause her trailer is broken and Susan took Twister. We went out for an hour or so and then came back in and had supper and visited till it got dark then went out again. The ponies thought we were cray! Kali didn't want to leave the yard, but she is sooooo attached to bailey she had to, lol. It was really cool! The moon was so bright and it was almost like daytime but cooler (thank goodness! it has been over 30 here for at least 3 weeks now) We went for about another hour and then called it quits and it was a little chilly so we loaded up and headed home.
The next night was just as nice (maybe even a little warmer) and so I called Susan and we decided to go again. The moon was almost full still so we figured if there was not too many clouds we could see lots too. We got there a little later and went out. I took Bailey again and ponied Kali (she needs the exersize and she is soo good) Char couldn't make it this time. We left a little before dark and it wasn't late enough, it was pretty hard to see and the clouds were covering the moon :( Not that we were worried, Bailey can always find her way back so we were not gonna get lost and then as we made the loop and we almost home it was so nice out we decided to go make another loop. It was a good choice as the weather was just perfect and then the moon was high enough to be out of the clouds and it was really bright.
What a nice way to spend a evening. And because it was dark there were virtually no bugs (we saw 1 mosquito, lol)
(I forgot my camera (DUH!) and so after the first ride
I made Char take me a pic by the moon,
but I wish Id have smiled)

Cool Moon Pics
It was almost a full moon when we were out sitting on the deck and since I love the moon so much I thought I would try to get some pics again. There was a few with the tree leaves in them, even though the leaves look black.
And then there was some that look like the sky was black even though it wasn't.
And some that had a bluer sky with clouds moving across them.
I think they turned out quite well.

Sunday Stills -- The Letter F
We did a letter challenge this week on Sunday Stills and for the life of me all I could think of that began with the letter F was Fuzzy. So I got a couple pics of Kali's super long fuzzy hair. And how much lighter she gets in the winter. I was noticing she was really light but then I rubbed her fur and saw all her dark summer color underneath. I never seen that on a horses winter hair before.
To see what others came up with go to Sunday Stills.
And then with my brain freeze all week on Friday night I was driving home and the moon was so big and bright I was wishing moon was the subject this week and then I remembered it was a Full moon so it gets in as well.

Last Night
So last night I was noticing how the sky looked so pretty and orange and thought I better get a couple photos of it. So I did.
Then I turned around to go back to the house and saw the moon so thought I would get a couple shots of it. They turned out OK, but I shoulda had a tripod and they woulda been so much better.
Pretty cool lookin different directions though.

Sunday Stills -- Fade to black
This week might be our last Sunday Stills. Although that would be pretty sad. I have really enjoyed the challenges that have come through here and how much more I think about different subjects to photograph. I hope someone will take it over. I would love to, I just don't have the time right now. Anyways back on subject, I wasn't even thinking of the pics I took on Wednesday would have fit perfectly with this challenge.
But I did get a moon shot earlier this year with the help of a friend coaching me through it and I have to say the best moon shot I have ever taken, so here it is.
And I sent the pic to him and he did a few tweaks on it, but I'm not sure it needed it. I kinda thought it would be cool if he could make it kinda blue or orange, but that woulda taken him more time than he had right then. But I might still try to see if he will do it yet. It is hard to see the differences unless they are enlarged (which you can do by clicking on it) Mostly it is just sharper.
For all its worth, I think next week we should photograph a sporting event in honor of the Olympics. For more, check over at Sunday Stills.
