A Horrible Day For a Ride

On most days I been trying to ride and so I it was getting warm but I thought I should go anyways, there was a little breeze so I thought the bugs would be not bad.  I got Jess ready and bug sprayed her and me and just as I got on the wind just died down.  Which woulda been nice but the bugs was real bad.  Heading North or South was buggy but tolerable, but going East and West was just like being swarmed.  It was a pretty miserable ride for us both and we ended up loping most of the way cause it was so awful.  I felt bad for her so after we got back and her all suited up I let her graze the yard for a while.

Then While she was doing that I sat on the deck and had one of the frozen coolers we brought back from Great Falls.  They are so good I wish I coulda brought more.

And then when Neil come in that night he had a couple wild roses with him.  They are pretty but also very fragile and they lasted only about a day in the house.

Bugs! UGH! It seems you can spray spray spray and the bugs are resistant! We get those frozen coolers at WalMart. Usually a cart full when we go. Not really, but it seems like we do. We only go to WalMart once a month or so. Love the wild roses. SO pretty!

I hate bugs too! We were out yesterday, big mistake! No wind, big blood sucking flies, and horse flies too! The horses went mad! so we returned home.

Its been so darn muggy and hot here also, and that has been why I haven't even ridden. I told myself this year I was going to put a lot more time in the saddle and with all the rain and muggy weather, I haven't even been on once this year yet :(

Looks like your mare is well protected! That's pretty sweet that Neil brought you wild roses.

We have had a touch of rain almost every day, just enough to make it buggy here too. Blood sucking gnats- they are the worst. Poor ponies are going insane!

Your flowers are pretty, how sweet that he thought to bring them to you. TC doesn't think along those lines.

The mosquitos have been HORRIBLE here this year. Same with the little black flies. Feel bad for the horses, with my schedule we can't light a smudge and if I spray them before work it's pretty much worn off right when the bugs get bad :(
