Sunday Stills-Pets

This week Sunday Stills is all about pets.  Since we don't have any pets around here anymore this was a little challenging.  We have cats...

Which I don't consider a pet cause they live outside and hunt for us, and I have horses...

Which also are not pets, they have a use to work cows and are more like livestock than a pet.  And we have cows... (well calves here)

Which are not a pet either, they are our livelihood and our dinner, so I was stuck with getting someone elses pets.  When I was in Calgary I never thought of it soon enough or I would have gotten my nephews hamster, but he was in bed by the time we got home, so I got dogs.  {Pretty cute dogs I have to admit) This is Chevette and Corvette.

Jardis pups which are not so much puppies anymore, but gangly nine month old dogs.  They mostly live in the barn, so I have to look at my favorite dog everyday, I think its a conspiracy, she might have to come home with me one day, but she is a barker and she messes in her kennel,  both not traits I want in a dog, but we will see.  And here is Xena and Corvette with Clara in the background.

I have to convince Neil first, that will be the hardest to do. Since he is kinda happy not having a dog.

For more, go check out Sunday Stills.

I like your barn cat, handsome fellow! Jamaica is looking good! Even with his snow blanket. Which dog is your favorite? The barking and kennel messing behaviors can be changed with some one on one attention.

We have feral cats out in the orchard, they keep the gophers down, when ranch dog doesn't chase them off.....Who said cows aren't pets?

Barn cats are considered! That is if you can pet them. I sometimes wish I didn't have all the pets that I have!

Everyone needs a dog.

You are the opposite of me. If there is an animal and it lives on my property, even if it is wild, I call it a pet.

We can't have outdoor cats. They don't last a night with the many packs of coyotes that call our area home.
We do have 3 indoor cats, though. And two dogs. Our GSD, we've tried everything to totally house train her, including checking her health out at the vet's, she still forgets, and she's almost 3 years old! We can take her out, watch her do her business, and then bring her back inside...and she'll pee in the house moments after getting back inside.

I think some dogs, especially small dogs, just are never completely able to be house-trained. So she's an outdoor dog during the day and inside her crate, in the house, at night.

Good luck if you decide on getting one of those dogs.
